Monument video mapping
The Video Mapping Festival comes to the Princess of Arenberg Castle with a creation that takes us back in time and retraces the history of the town, evoking its forest, its mining heritage and its future, looking towards a greener future.

Once, flora and forest predominated in northern France. One fine day, men came to settle, hunted, cultivated fields and built fortresses. From a hamlet deep in the woods grew a fortified town: Raismes was born. For several centuries, this history endured and took root in the soil.
But one day, the depths of the northern lands rose to the surface and the bowels of the earth revealed a black treasure: coal. And so began the Industrial Revolution. Three centuries of activity were to change the landscape of Raismes, and the mining culture was to be born and grow, leaving behind a substantial heritage.
Today, the memory of Raismes can be found in its sites and in the transmission of its heritage to younger generations. Welcome to Raismes, an area shaped by the hands of yesterday and the ideas of tomorrow!
