IN COMPETITION:
Concurrent n°1
Metanoia Creatives (Czech Republic)
▶︎ Resonant
Proposing a visual dialogue between two revolutionary art movements – Color Field Painting and Op Art -, Resonant helps us to explore the depths of already well established art movements, while also providing solid ground for an explorative journey. Each movement, in its own time, tried to challenge perception and evoke profound emotional or physical reactions from the viewer. By drawing inspiration from luminaries such as Mark Rothko, Barnett Newman and Helen Frankenthaler in the realm of Color Field Painting, alongside Victor Vasarely, Bridget Riley and Jesús Rafael Soto from Op Art, this creation seeks to reimagine these static works as dynamic, evolving forces.

Hans Bolz (Germany)
▶︎ oscillation. the sound of architecture.
This project explores how architecture can be experienced as music, guided by the principle “sound follows form”. The Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille is transformed into sound, with its Belle Époque rhythm and structure expressed through an arpeggio pattern echoing the era’s ornamental detail. Columns translate into string ostinatos, arches shape melodies, and the foundation resonates with deep tones. In the same way that past visions of progress fused tradition and innovation, this approach reimagines architecture as a dynamic, multi-sensory experience.

Concurrent n°3
Vali Chincișan (Romania)
▶︎ JAZZ
“The concept for JAZZ comes from my obsession with the junction of improvisation and structure in creative output. Matisse’s Jazz series has always captivated me especially for its simplicity and boldness, where vibrant colors and abstract forms combine in a way that feels both planned and easy. Jazz music’s improvisational quality reflects this harmony, and I find it to be a metaphor for the creative process itself: a dance between form and free expression.”
Direction: Vali Chincișan, assisted with Cristian Negoescu
Animation: Vali Chincișan
Original music: Alin Zăbrăuțeanu
Concurrent n°4
Vio + Demsky (Canada, USA)
▶︎ Continuum
Audio-reactive visuals projected on the architecture that mirror the vast poetry of the cosmos. Shimmering stars flicker to the rhythm, while galaxies swirl and nebulae burst into vivid explosions of light and color. Reacting to the music, the visuals dance in harmony with the music, embodying the celestial choreography of starbirth, movement, and cosmic resonance.

Original music: Demsky
Concurrent n°5
Rita Reis (Portugal)
▶︎ Fabric of being
Fabric of being proposes a reflection on the textile tradition as a cultural heritage of the territories and the decisive role played by women in its preservation.
The textiles, like any piece of art, are testimonies of the distinct cultural identities of each territory, of collective memories but also of individual narratives of their artisans: what endures, what distinguishes us, what unites us, the territory we occupy.
In patriarchal societies where almost all cultural heritage is defined by men and developed in their image, the textile tradition is often the only opportunity for women to gain voice and visibility, and to build a place of autonomy and freedom that allows them to express themselves, their reality and their lives: multiple layers of meanings expressed in shapes, colors, techniques, hues that function as a social support structure. Weaving, embroidery, crochet, fabrics are testimonies of narratives that keep societies together, functioning as an aggregating skin: as embodied collective knowledge and also as the body’s open-ended script that highlights human life and women’s struggle.

Concurrent n°6
SNAPLIGHT (China)
▶︎ Ephemeral Realms
Ephemeral Realms is a 3D mapping projection that transforms architecture through blue smoke, metallic lines, and vibrant lights, depicting a journey from mystery to futurism, from brilliance to fragility. The five chapters explore the fleeting beauty and the cycle of creation and destruction.
Direction and animation: SNAPLIGHT
Original music: Rock Lee, Lynne Jiang
Concurrent n°7
Anna Meldrāja – Pirate Pixie (Latvia)
▶︎ The Tale of Balance
The Tale of Balance is a fairy tale that aims to link two key issues: environmental destruction and low mental health/wellbeing. Both stem from our lost connection to nature. Everything in the nature is biologically connected, so why do we think we are not? We must remember we are part of the natural world, not its owners, and work to restore the balance not just in nature, but ourselves too. The tale will be used to create a sound design with lyrics, which will go together with the video mapping.
