Immersive video mapping
The Video Mapping Festival takes over the Frac Grand Large for 4 days and invites you to discover an immersive mapping in the spectacular AP2 Hall! Presented to mark the commemoration of Operation Dynamo and the Liberation of Dunkirk, this work pays tribute to the history of Dunkirk, the martyred city of World War II, to the resilience of its inhabitants and to the city’s renewal.
As part of Memory – When memory fades, history starts again.
> Memory – When memory fades, history starts again.
The year 2025 will be marked in Dunkirk by two very important commemorations: the 85th anniversary of Operation Dynamo and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the town, one of the very last French cities to be recaptured from the Germans in 1945.
Discover a year of unique commemorations combining solemn tributes, human stories and immersive experiences. Exhibitions, conferences, screenings, interactive installations… So many events to plunge into the heart of history and reflect on our present.

► Memory of failures
« When memory fades, history starts again… »
This video mapping pays tribute to the success and pride of an entire city. It also celebrates the memory of those who suffered, a martyred city that was largely destroyed during the war, as well as the civilians who died and were exiled during the operation. The show also celebrates the city’s resilience and renewal, with its reconstruction symbolised by the AP2, the flagship of a flourishing industry. Finally, this creation serves as a warning to future generations, encouraging them to remember the lessons of the past and to remain vigilant in the face of rising extremes.
